The New England Archivists organization held its Spring 2012 conference at Wesleyan March 23-24. More than 225 archivists from around the region attended the meeting.

Sessions covered the do-it-yourself-side of preservation techniques, fundraising and grant writings, interacting with the community, interns and volunteers, handling ethical issues, marketing and publishing, online exhibits, and more.

Daniel Santamaria '95 of Princeton University led a workshop on "Implementing More Product, Less Process." Topics included appraisal, arrangement, description, digitization, preservation, and development of processing plans, policies and benchmarks.
University archivist Suzy Taraba, head of special collections and archives, and Valerie Gillispie, university archivist at Duke University, co-chaired the local arrangements committee.
